Toronto Jewish Free Loan Cassa (G’milath Chasodim) is now called Jewish Free Loan Toronto. Our mandate and services are unchanged.

Jewish Free Loan Toronto was formed with the mandate to Help People to Help Themselves by offering interest-free loans to needy individuals of the Jewish community in the Greater Toronto Area.

Based on the Jewish value of G’milath Chasodim, “acts of loving kindness,” JFLT helps a broad range of needy members of our community to meet their educational and personal needs and to help them create their own business opportunities. Hebrew loan associations like the JFLC were pioneers of the microfinance movement which empowers  individuals to remain self-sufficient while preserving their dignity.

Our numbers show the diversity and reach of the Jewish Free Loan Toronto. We are proud to have over 560 active loans, with a total value of almost $1.7 million dollars, and are grateful for the ongoing support of UJA Federation of Greater Toronto and United Way Toronto.
